NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. The Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of Mr Oladeji Williams as the new General Manager,Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency {LASIAMA} as part of efforts to revamp and rejuvenate public infrastructure management and maintenance in the State.Until his recent appointment,Mr Oladeji Williams was the Special Assistant to the Governor on Energy and a team member of the Policy Development,Conceptualization,Coordination,and Implementation of the Light up Lagos Initiative.Mr Oladeji is a well-rounded professional and skilled administrator with cognate working experience spanning over fifteen {15} years spent working as a project manager in the United States of America and in Nigeria; he worked at management level within the Lagos State Government and also served as a consultant to various State governments in Nigeria.He is a graduate of Franklin University,United States of America with a Bachelor's Degree in International Business and Global Issues.He also holds professional Certificates in Project Management and International Facility Management.The Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency {formerly Office of the Facility Management and Maintenance {OFMM} is charged with the tasks of ensuring proper management and maintenance of all Lagos State assets and infrastructure.
