NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. The newly built Fela {Kuti} Effigy at Allen Round About Ikeja by Lagos State Government is now the center of attraction around that environment and the yellow gold statue is no doubt making a statement though someone in my car said it looks like a big scare crow.In Ojodu Berger,the entry point into the State,a Foot-like Statue was also erected.The significance of the Statue is to encourage youths to put their best foot forward and to know that every journey to success starts with a step.The foot and the Fela Effigy os part of the urban regeneration to beautify and celebrate Lagos @ 50 as well as promote the cultural heritage of the State by the Lagos Government.More photos below.
