 Adidas CEO Calls Surfeit of Pink Boots at World Cup an 'Accident' Adidas Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Gulden has addressed the overwhelming presence of pink football boots at the World Cup, describing the visual uniformity across competing sportswear brands as an unintentional coincidence. Speaking during a press conference covering the company’s quarterly financial results, Gulden responded to inquiries regarding the unusual dominance of identical footwear shades worn by top players throughout the tournament. An Unintended Overlap Across Brands "It was an accident," Gulden acknowledged when questioned about the monochromatic trend on the field. "I think it’s a coincidence, and I hope it will not happen again."
