YULETIDE SEASON: LAGOS CBD COMMENCES NIGHT PATROL.{PHOTOS}


       
       As part of measures to ensure the protection lives and property of residents during the Yuletide period, the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts has commenced night patrol of Lagos CBD and its environs.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts, Mr. Agboola Dabiri who disclosed in his office, explained that the initiative was meant to ensure safety and security of Lagosians on the Island especially after work hours.
He said the CBD enforcement unit has intensified efforts on night patrol of the CBD zone - Balogun, UBA/Tinubu, Ereko/Martins, Alli Balogun and Nnamdi Azikiwe streets, outer and inner Marina and Idumota axis - to ensure that everyone visiting Lagos Island gains free passage back to their respective homes.
While urging Lagosians to be vigilant during Yuletide period, the Special Adviser said that CBD enforcement unit and other government agencies are fully prepared to ensure that security challenges associated with the high influx of shoppers and traders into the Island during festive period is well managed.
He also disclosed that the enforcement unit, in conjunction with other government agencies, has also commenced joint patrol of CBD enclaves during the day to ensure that traffic and security challenges are addressed.Dabiri advised traders to desist from using the walkways and kerbs to display their goods to avoid falling victim of road accidents that might result from failure of the brakes of vehicles plying the route.More photos below.
