 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. FAYOSE INTERACTS WITH CIVIL SERVANTS+DEBUNKS RUMOR OF N56B LOAN.{PHOTOS}.


      An interface between Governor Ayodele Fayose and civil servants from grade levels 1 to 13 at the government house pavilion, Ado-Ekiti is presently ongoing.
Governor Fayose who thanked the workers for their support addressed issues raised by the civil servants, while some of the problems were solved immediately, mechanism was put in place to resolve others.
Also at the meeting, governor Fayose informed the civil servants that he has received #4.76b Paris Club refund, he told them the money will be shared between the state and local government next week.
Fayose who directed the Accountant General to make sure workers get their Xmas bonus latest Thursday 21st December, 2017 also assured them that leave bonus and salaries will be paid.
Meanwhile, Ekiti State Government has described as total falsehood, report that the State borrowed a total sum of N56 billion since Governor Ayodele Fayose assumed office and that a fresh N25 billion loan was applied for; saying that; “the only fresh loan taken by the government of Fayose was the N10 billion grant from the Excess Crude Account, which was released to all States for capital projects, N2.8 billion requested from Wema Bank to pay State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) counterpart fund out of which N1 billion has been accessed and N600 million for MDGs counterpart fund, which has been repaid.”.More photos below.
