 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. FEDERAL MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS BESTOWS AWARDS OF OUTSTANDING PREFORMANCES TO MEDAL WINNING NIGERIAN ARMY ATHLETES AND COACHES.{PHOTOS}.

     The Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, on friday at Abuja, held an awards night for national athletes who won laurels for the country at international Championships held in 2017. The ceremony took place today Friday 19th January 2018 at the Package A of the National Stadium Abuja amidst pomp and pageantry.
Three Nigerian Army Athletes and two coaches received awards for outstanding performances which were handed over to them by the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalong. The athletes were; Private Tochukwu Okeke who won a Bronze Medal at the Senior African Wrestling Championship held at Marrakech, Morocco in April 2017, Private Winnie Gofit, who won a Gold Medal at the African Judo Championship held at Dakar, Senegal in November 2017 and Lance Corporal Yetunde Odunuga, who won a Silver Medal at the African Boxing Championship held at Congo-Brazzaville in June 2017.

The award winning coaches include Warrant Officer Miller Waribo for Judo and Staff Sergeant Umar Mohammed for boxing. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai has congratulated the athletes and coaches for the feats achieved and awards.
