 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. EKITI GUBER: PDP PICKS A YOUTH,MUSLIM AS ELEKA'S RUNNING MATE.

     The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ekiti State has picked immediate past Chairman of Ado Local Government, 39-year-old Kazeem Deji Ogunsakin , as the running mate to its Governorship candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
With the development, Ogunsakin, a Muslim, would complement the election of Eleka, a Christian cleric, on religious sentiment.
Recall also that the Muslim community in Ekiti a few months ago had demanded the choice of a Muslim as Deputy governor as condition to throw their weight behind Governor Ayo Fayose in his support for Eleka as the party's candidate.
According to a press release signed by the state's party chairman, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase, and made available to newsmen on Friday, the decision to pick Ogunsakin, a Muslim and young banker, was reached ": after an extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including the youths and, by extension, the Muslim community in the state."
He further said that: "The choice of 39 year old Economist and banker was informed by the need to involve the younger generation in governance of the Stage in line with the global teens as well as give the Muslim community in the State a sense of belonging.
Furthermore, it is our belief that Ado Ekiti, being the state capital with the largest voting population, deserves consideration for the deputy governorship position.".The PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, who is a graduate of Economics from the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, also holds a Masters' degree in Business Administration from the University if Lagos. Until his nomination, he was raining he head of the Due Process Office.
