 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. NIGERIAN ARMY REPELS ATTACK, NEUTRALIZE BOKO HARAM AT GASHIGAR.#PRESS RELEASE.

      1. Troops of operation LAFIYA DOLE on clearance operation at Gashigar repelled an attack and neutralized 6 Boko Haram terrorists.
2. Some of the terrorists were also wounded during the encounter.
3. Items recovered include
a. 1 Anti aircraft Gun.
b. 4 AK47 rifles.
c. 6 AK47 Magazines.
d. 2 Mortar Bombs.
e. 2 Gun Trucks.
4. Unfortunately, two soldiers were wounded during the operation.
5. Similarly, troops successfully cleared Gambori, Dumbawa, Damsu, Awardi, Kanaram, Laridi, Malumdi and Yuramdi villages.
6. Items recovered include;
a. One Refrigerator.
b. One 14inch TV.
c. two DVDs.
d. A box filled with drugs.
7. Efforts are on to arrest fleeing other members of the terrorists group.
