 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.      The Leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Bokkos Chapter, the Military taskforce code named Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Bokkos Command and the Management of Plateau State University have agree on zero tolerance for day and night cattle grazing on the premises of the University.
Mr John Agam, Public Relations Officer of the University, announced the deal in a statement on Thursday.“This agreement was reached during a meeting at the University following the incessant trespass and breach of peace in the institution due to the activities of herdsmen who break through the University fence to graze their cattle both during the day and night”, it noted.They agreed to henceforth stop any form of grazing in the University as there is no cattle route running through the University Community to warrant such actions.“Stakeholders also agreed that since resolutions of previous meetings over the issue of grazing in the University premises have been consistently violated by herders whose grazing activities have continued on the premises of the Institution unabated, security agents are now at liberty to take any action they deem fit over any cattle apprehended grazing in the University Community during the day or at night”.The University’s spokesperson added that recently. suspected hoodlums attempted to defile a female student but were chased away by the students."The incident is currently being investigated by the University security committee and anyone found culpable will be duly punished”, he warned.“The University authority is therefore reassuring all parents, guardians and stakeholders that it is not leaving anything to chance by ensuring the safety of both students and staff as it has approved the location of a security outpost near the University for rapid response in the event of breaches.This is in addition to the existing campus security.“The management extends its gratitude to the Special Task Force (OPSH) for providing their men to beef up security on the University campus.”.Participants at the meeting were drawn from the Leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Bokkos Branch, represented by its Vice Chairman Isa Idris; GAN-Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN) represented by Sale Yusuf Adam; Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Bokkos Command represented by Lt. Paul Asoh and the Chief Security Officer of Plateau State University Mr Istifanus Kurtong represented the Vice Chancellor.Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Yohana Daniel Izam has, on behalf of the institution, sympathized with and extended condolences to all victims of the recents attacks in Plateau state.
