 TURNING WASTE TO WEALTH: LASEPA PARTNERS ORORO WASTE MANAGEMENT LTD. TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF USED COOKING OIL The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) is partnering with Ororo Waste Management Ltd to promote the recycling of used cooking oil for wealth creation, sustainable environment and public health safety. As such, the Agency in collaboration with Ororo Waste Management Ltd on Tuesday organised a One-Day public sensitisation programme on sustainable management of used cooking oil with the Theme: “Turning Used Cooking Oil to Wealth: Prospects and Opportunities,”  The event, which was held at the Protea Hotels, Alausa, Ikeja, brought together people from different walks of life who shared knowledge on the new recycling initiative for healthy living and sustainable environmental growth. GOV AHMED APPOINTS NEW PROVOST FOR KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF ARABIC & ISLAMIC LEGAL STUDIES.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the appointment of Dr. Olokoba Abdullahi Ayinla as the substantive Provost for the State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi Alikinla on Tuesday.
According to the commissioner, the appointment of Dr. Ayinla takes effect from Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
He expressed confidence that given his qualifications and prior experience, Dr. Ayinla will transition well into his new position as the Provost and capably manage the affairs of the college.
Prior to his appointment, the new Provost was the Deputy Provost, Administrative affairs of the college.It would be recalled that the College had in May, 2018 invited application from qualified candidates for the position.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
