Justice Oke, speaking during a workshop for the newly appointed Court Registrars at Peace Hall, Lagos Multidoor Court House Igbosere, said the present administration is working tirelessly to improve the justicedelivery service by infusing into the system professionalism, relevant skills, qualification and competent individuals into the court system.
She implored the newly deployed Court Registrars to be efficient in their duties, stressing that “Inefficiency on your part will constitute a serious clog in the wheels of justice; judges and magistrates cannot perform their duties of hearing and determining cases without an efficient and functional support staff base of which you are a major part. Your role is both administrative and legal”.
She maintained that the Court Registrar's contribution to the smooth running of the courts cannot be overemphasised, adding that the purpose of the training is to educate personnel on their roles, open them up to expectations of the judiciary in some areas and to refresh their memories for better performance.
The Chief Judge enjoined the participants to stand for what is right at all times and let integrity be their watchword in their assignment, anticipating that a noticeable difference in the working process of courts will manifest after the training and as a result of their previous knowledge cum experience.Oke, therefore, advised the newly recruited Court Registrars to carry out their duties with the fear of God in order to make a positive impact on the judicial system in the State.
