 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.        The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Akwa Ibom State has commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism and excellent conduct during the 2019 General Elections.
In a letter personally signed by Hon Mike Igini, the Akwa Ibom Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), INEC singled out officers and men of 6 Division led by Col MU Ahmed deployed for election duties in Akwa Ibom State for commendation for their exceptional non-partisan and professional conduct in the discharge of their duties during the elections.
