 DG NEMA Takes Disaster Risk Reduction Awareness To Primary School Pupils in Abuja The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has visited LEA Primary School, Durumi, Abuja where she engaged pupils in an interactive session on disaster prevention and safety awareness. The visit which formed part of NEMA’s ongoing efforts to promote disaster risk reduction education among young Nigerians and build a culture of safety from an early age. A statement by Manzo Ezekiel, Head, Press Unit indicates that while addressing the pupils, Mrs. Zubaida Umar emphasized the importance of basic safety habits and simple disaster mitigation measures that children can adopt both at home and in school. She taught the pupils practical steps to reduce risks associated with common emergencies such as fire outbreaks, flooding, and unsafe play environments.  The Director General encouraged them to be safety conscious, remain alert to potential dangers in their surroundings, and promptly report hazar...

THE 'ADC' OF 'BISHOP ALOYSIUS ' WAS GUNNED DOWN YESTERDAY IN JOHANNESBURG.{PHOTOS}.


       The ADC of Chief Alosius Ikegwuonu, popularly known as Bishop Ozubulu, was yesterday gunned down in Johannesburg, an affluent city in South Africa.
In the meantime, the spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mr. Chuks Ibegbu has called on the people of South Africa to stop the mindless killing of Nigerians in their country.
He expressed alarm at the rate Nigerians in that land are being felled by xenophobics and wondered why South Africans have easily forgotten the role Nigerians played in their Independence.
Beside several South African citizens and companies are doing their business unmolested in Nigeria.
Ibegbu called on south African government to do something urgently about it .
He also called on Nigeria government to engage its South African counterpart on this very serious matter. No single South African has lost his or her life in Nigeria .
Chuks Ibegbu called on elders of South Africa to teach their youths history of their country and the role of Nigeria in their independence.
He appealed to Nigerian government to make life worthy of living here so that our men and women would not be dying like chicken in foreign lands.He lambasted politicians for stealing our commonwealth and our legislators for allotting huge salaries to themselves without doing any commensurate work.
The Ohanaeze scribe alleged that the lawmakers are arrogating to themselves monies that would be used to develop the  country and make life better for our people.
Ibegbu, therefore, called for the  abrogation of security votes to political office holders and immunity clause covering them.
Finally, he appealed to youths of South Africa to see all Africans as their brothers while calling on Nigerians and other Africans that commit crime in the country to stop it.
