 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. BUILDING COLLAPSE IN OSHODI TODAY LEFT SEVERAL PEOPLE INJURED.{PHOTOS}.

      The collapse of the distressed two-storeyed building located at No 35, Adesanya Street, off Ayoni Bus Stop in the Mafoluku area of Oshodi exactly at 9.45 a.m. today Sunday, caused panic among residents, as people still live in and around similar buildings already marked for demolition.
Rescue workers and officials from the Lagos State government have, already moved into the site of the building to pull down the remaining structure.Also, injured victims have been moved to an undisclosed hospital, while the partially collapsed building is has been pulled down. More details later and one more photo below.
