 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. A MORTUARY GOT BURNT TODAY AT ENUGWU-UKWU GENERAL HOSPITAL,ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     Fire incident that razed the mortuary section of Enugwu -Ukwu General Hospital in Njikoka local Government Area of Anambra State has burnt the dead bodies inside the mortuary beyond recognition.
It was gathered that the incident which took place Saturday started at about 5.41pm.
According to reports from the police, its Patrol team led by DPO Nimo Division CSP EGU Benjamin on hearing the news had rushed to the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent looters from taking advantage of the situation to loot.
It was gathered that the Police had contacted the fire Service department who arrived at the scene and put off the fire with the help of local volunteers.
It would be recalled that the fire has caused extensive damage in the building as almost all the corpses at the mortuary was burnt beyond recognition.As at the time of filling this report, the cause of the fire incident is yet unknown.
