  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. In fulfillment of his promise to the good people of Rivers State, the Executive Governor of Rivers State His Excellency Chief Barrister Nyesom E. Wike through the Rivers State Ministry of Education has commenced application for the free JAMB UTME registration for indigenes of Rivers State. The Application form is available on the RIVEMIS platform (rivemis.riversstate.gov.ng). Interested applicants must be 16 years of age and above, and must be indigenes of Rivers State. This is the only channel for valid applications for this service. No manual application will be acknowledged. Please be guided and spread the word to your students and ex-students.
