 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. LAGOS WOMEN RUN: LASTMA ISSUES TRAVEL ADVISORY TO MOTORIST.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency(LASTMA) has notified motorists that due to the “Lagos Women Run” marathon event scheduled to hold on Saturday, 9th November, 2019, between 6.00 am and 10.00 am, the Onikan roundabout inwards Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and other roads leading to the entrance of TBS, as well as the entire stretch of Broad Street into Eko Bridge inwards Surulere, will be closed to traffic for the duration of the race.
A statement from LASTMA noted that participants will take off from Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island, proceed through the entire stretch of Broad Street and link Eko Bridge through Apongbon.
The release added that the runners will descend from Eko Bridge into Alaka on the service lane before finishing at the main bowl of Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.
Disclosing that no vehicles will be allowed to ply any street that intersects Broad Street, just as all movements shall be prohibited from Iponri towards Alaka during the marathon, LASTMA informed motorists that normal traffic flow will be maintained for vehicles driving from Lagos Mainland into Lagos Island.
The statement, therefore, advised motorists going to Surlere from Victoria Island to drive through Onikan to Awolowo Road and connect Obalende Bridge, Carter Bridge, Iddo, Oyingbo, Old Apapa Road to Costain, Abebe Village Road, Eric Moore, Adeniran Ogunsanya to link Surulere.
It implored motorists plying Marina Bridge and wishing to connect Surulere or Lagos Mainland to descend Marina Bridge by the Cathedral Church or UBA Building into Inner Marina, connect Outer Marina and ascend Obalende Bridge to connect Carter Bridge or Third Mainland Bridge.
Motorists driving from Ijora towards Ojuelegba or beyond are advised to connect Iganmu, Eric Moore, Bode Thomas, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Shitta, Akerele, Ogunlana Drive for access to their final destination, or alternatively, they could go through Costain, Abebe Village Road, Eric Moore, Bode Thomas to reach their intended locations.
The statement also appealed to motorists heading from Ikoyi towards Surulere to make use of the Third Mainland Bridge to connect Adekunle, Herbert Macaulay, Jibowu and Empire Road for access to Ojuelegba, or wade through Carter Bridge, Iddo, Oyingbo, Old Apapa Road, Costain, Abebe Village Road and Eric Moore to proceed further.
While regretting any inconveniences the temporary diversion of routes might cause, it enjoined road users and the general public to cooperate with traffic officers strategically positioned at intersections and traffic hotspots along the alternative routes.
