 Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Recover Weapons, Cash In Kaduna Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 kidnapped victims and recovered arms, ammunition and ransom money in a successful operation in Kaduna State. The rescue followed the abduction of several women from their farms in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area, on 29 November 2025. Security forces launched an immediate search-and-rescue mission to track the kidnappers. According to military authorities, the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on 5 December 2025, when troops intercepted the kidnappers during an attempted ransom collection. The armed group reportedly came under heavy fire, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon the hostages. COVID 19: GOVERNOR SULE PARDONS 125 INMATES IN NASARAWA STATE.{PHOTO}.

    Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi A Sule has pardoned no fewer than 125 inmates of the state Correctional Centres to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This is coming after President Muhammad Badaru kicked-off the 2020 presidential pardon and clemency program to fast track the decongestion of prisons over the fear of COVID-19 spread in the country.
Containing in a statement released personally on Thursday by the Governor.
The Governor has directed the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy to map out modalities for the immediate release of the affected inmates across the State Correctional Centres.
The statement read in part "

"In furtherance of the concerted efforts of the present Administration towards the containment of the spread of COVID-19 and the need to urgently decongest the Correctional Centres across the country, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has approved the pardon of 2,600 inmates.
"The inmates are in the following categories:
a. Convicts with fine of N50,000.00 and below;
b. Convicts with minor offences;
c. On the grounds of old age (above 60 years);
d. Those who have served 75% of their sentences; and
e. Convicts with less than 6 months to complete their sentences.
"In the light of the foregoing, a total of 125 inmates are to benefit from the Nasarawa State Correctional Centres across the State.
"I have directed the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy to map out modalities for the immediate release of the affected inmates across the State Correctional Centres", the governor said.
