 COAS DEEPENS VETERAN ENGAGEMENT, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO TROOP WELFARE, ARMY TRANSFORMATION The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to the welfare of serving and retired personnel, while advancing ongoing reforms aimed at building a more professional, adaptable, technologically enabled and combat-ready force. The COAS stated this on Thursday, 17 September 2026, when he received members of the Executive Committee of the Course 39 Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) United Welfare Association (UWA), led by its President, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola (Rtd), on  a courtesy visit to Army Headquarters, Abuja. 21 COVID-19 PATIENTS DISCHARGED TODAY IN LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

   Covid-19 Update By The Incident Commander, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu
My dear Lagosians,
I am happy to inform you that 21 more #COVID19 patients; 4 females and 17 males, all Nigerians have been discharged from our isolation facilities to reunite with the society.
The patients, 3 from Onikan, 1 from Eti-Osa (LandMark), 1from First Cardiology Hospital (an accredited private Isolation facility), 6 from Lekki and 10 from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation Centres. were discharged today having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive test readings.
With this, the total number of cases successfully managed and discharged from isolation facilities has risen to 469.
Remember to practice hand hygiene, join our #MaskUpLagos campaign by using a facemask especially when outdoor and do not forget to observe strictly the Social Distancing principle.
