 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. EID-EL-FITR: ORTOM CALLS FOR SUSTAINED FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     As Muslims in Benue State join the rest of the world to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, Governor Samuel Ortom urges them to continue to observe COVID-19 protocol to prevent the spread of the disease.
The Governor implores the Muslim faithful and other Benue people to adhere to preventive measures such as social distancing, wearing of face masks, the use of alcohol based sanitizers and hand washing with soap.
He commends the people of the state for the impressive level of compliance with the measures taken by his administration to curb the virus.
Governor Ortom felicitates with all Muslims for the successful completion of Ramadan fast, and admonishes them to promote the values of piety, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and justice, as Prophet Muhammad exemplified.
He acknowledges and appreciates the prayers made by the Muslim community and all other religious groups any time the state is confronted by challenges.
The Governor assures Benue people that with their cooperation, his administration will continue to take proactive steps to tackle COVID-19, while also addressing other challenges of development.
