 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. LAGOS STATE RELEASES NAMES OF THE MOST AFFECTED AREAS BY COVID-19( SEE THE LISTS).{PHOTO}.

   The Lagos state commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi reveal the list of the local government areas in Lagos state with the highest number of confirm Covid-19 cases.
Lagos state has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, it was released in a tweet on 8 May 2020.
According to the list released to Community Alert Magazine by the commissioner, Lagos mainland has the highest number of infections, Alimosho, Oshodi, Mushin, Ikeja, Kosofe and Isolo LGA also have increased cases.
Abayomi said the state is using the data to plan its strategies its strategies to tackle the disease.
Below is the list of local government areas in the state with COVID-19 infections:
1.Surulere: 31
2. Shomolu: 40
3. Oshodi/Isolo: 34
4. Ojo: 4
5. Mushin: 138
6. Lagos Mainland: 500
7. Lagos Island: 30
8. Ikorodu: 18
9. Kosofe: 59

The state commissioner of health, Akin Abayomi, made the disclosure on Friday, May 8, at a press briefing held at the Lagos state secretariat, Premium Times reports .
Abayomi noted that the figure is the COVID-19 projection model of the state and does not mean it is the exact figure that will be recorded.
The commissioner noted that the state is already preparing for the peak period by decentralising some of the sample collection centres to increase efficiency in combating coronavirus.
