 Zambia president approves law expanding parliament months before election Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema on Thursday signed into law constitutional changes that will expand the country's parliament, Reuters reported. The changes increase the number of members of parliament to around 280 from 167 currently by creating more constituencies, reserving 40 new seats for women, youth and people with disabilities, and allowing the president to appoint 11 members instead of eight previously. Hichilema, who will run for a second presidential term in the August 2026 election, said during a signing ceremony that the changes were being made in good faith and there was adequate consultation. He previously argued that some constituencies were too big for effective service delivery and should be split into smaller ones. EFCC ARREST BANKER FOR ALLEGED N18 MILLION FRAUD.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a staff of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Philips Orumade, for allegedly stealing the sum of Eighteen Million, Nine Hundred Thousand naira ( N18,900,000) from the bank.
Orumade, who was said to be in charge of ATM gallery keys at Aduwawa branch of the bank , on November 3 , 2019 allegedly disappeared with the said amount and efforts to trace him proved abortive.
According to the bank, the suspect was captured by the CCTV footage, walking into the ATM gallery, before using a nylon bag to cover the CCTV. The suspect has been on the run and was recently apprehended in Lagos.
He has made useful statements and will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
