 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.     President Buhari approves Dr. Isa Pantami’s recommendation for the reappointment of Professor Danbatta as ‪the Executive Vice Chairman‬ of Nigerian Communications Commission.

 PRESS RELEASE:

In an effort to consolidate the gains made in the telecommunications sector,in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and strategy,President Muhammadu Buhari approved the reappointment of Professor Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman,Nigeria n Communications Commission.
Professor Danbatta's reappointment was based on the recommendation of the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy,Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim {Pantami},FNCS,FBCS,FILM, in line with the Nigerian Communication Act,2003.
While wishing Professor Danbatta the best,the Honourable Minister directed him to significantly improve on the overall performance of the Commission as well as ensure that adequate mechanisms are put in place to facilitate the implementation of all policies of Federal Government through the Ministry.Furthermore,the Honourable Minister enjoined him to ensure that the interest of telecommunication consumers,Nigerians and investors are adequately protected.
