 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. CORPS MARSHAL COMMENDED STAFF WORKING ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE SINCE THE PARTIAL CLOSURE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Corps Marshal at the Top management meeting of today Tuesday 12/01/2020 commended the staff that have been working on the Third Mainland bridge since the partial closure of the bridge . He also commended the team that worked in Ogere on the eve of the New year till morning controlling traffic when a trailer blocked the road . He said their resilience, hard work, dedication and commitment is acknowledged and it gives him more hope in the future of the Corps with positive guarantee. The CM asked others to emulate the teams and to always give their best whenever they are given any special assignment.
The CM assured them of his continued support and that of the entire Management.
