 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. POLICE INTERVENES INTO INTRA COMMUNAL CRISIS IN OGWUIKPELE COMMUNITY OF OGBARU LGA OF ANAMBRA STATE,COMMENCES INVESTIGATION TO ASCERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE INCIDENT.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

*Restore normalcy and intensify joint patrols to forestall reoccurrence*
On 12/2/2021 at about 11:19pm there was a report of intra-communal crisis in Ogwuikpele Community by the Council Chairman òf Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State Hon.Arinzechukwu Awogu over a levy from an oil exploring company in the Community.
Following the report,the Command quickly dispatched joint Police teams comprising PMF/RRS and other Conventional Units in collaboration with the local Community Vigilante group led by the Area Commander Oraifite,ACP Wilfred Afolabi to the scene and met virtually half of the Community deserted.Situation was brought under control and normalcy restored in the area.Joint patrols are ongoing to reassure fleeing residents to return to the Community and ensure lasting peace in the area.
Meanwhile,investigation has commenced in earnest to ascertain number of lives lost,injuries sustained,damage to property,circumstances surrounding the incident,identify and bring perpetrators to book.
The Command once again appeals to the fleeing residents to return to the Community since normalcy has been restored and warns restive factions to maintain peace and assist in the investigation rather than resort to violence.
