OKO BABA RELOCATION: LASG TO PROVIDE 260 HOUSING UNITS FOR PLANK SELLERS AT TIMBER VILLE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE

In the bid to ease the relocation process of Oko-Baba Plank Market to Agbowa Timber Ville, the Lagos State Government has declared that it is making 260 housing units ready by September to accommodate the plank sellers.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako made this known during his inspection tour of the Timber Ville in Owu-Ikosi, Agbowa, on Tuesday, adding that all hands are on deck to ensure that the development partners, Messrs First World Communities deliver the houses to effectively resettle the traders.
He expressed confidence that the September timeline was realistic with the level of work so far done by the development partners, which includes the completion of the structures with fittings; electrification, and the commencement of civil works.
Dr. Salako emphasised that there is no going back on the relocation plan as it was necessary to reap maximum advantage of planning and environmental sustainability at both ends.
"As the movement of the plank market from Oko-Baba to Agbowa Timber Ville becomes a reality, we can rest assured that the physical environment at Oko-Baba and Agbowa will benefit from optimal land use to engender a livable, orderly and sustainable environment", he said.
While observing that some land speculators have started encroaching on the Timber Ville land, the Commissioner warned that such an illegal act must stop forthwith and urged members of the public not to fall for the cheap tricks of land speculators.

He added that Government would deal with those who encroached on the Timber Ville land with the appropriate punitive measures. One more photo below.
