CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS BOARD ORGANISES SEMINAR FOR OPERATIONS STAFF.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) on Monday organised a one-day seminar for operations staff for this year’s holy pilgrimage exercise scheduled for the Kingdom of Jordan in August.

The seminar, held at Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, was geared towards ensuring that the staff are enlightened about their duties and responsibilities to ensure a smooth pilgrimage exercise.

Addressing the participants, the Board Secretary of LSCPWB, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe stated that the seminar was convened to acquaint participants with requirements for excellent service delivery, noting that the task ahead must be performed without any hitch.

Charging the officers to be dedicated in their duties during the pilgrimage, Mrs. Gbafe pointed out that the exercise is not for leisure and emphasised the need for personnel to be good ambassadors of the State as they will be in charge of people and resources.

The Board Secretary noted that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to prevent abscondment, just as he advised operations staff to be security conscious.

She thanked the State Government for providing an enabling environment for a hitch-free pilgrimage to the Holy Land, promising that the pilgrims will experience a spirit-filled exercise.

Also speaking at the gathering, a member of the Board of LSCPWB, Mr. Babatunde Temionu, expressed delight that the pilgrimage is coming to light despite the pandemic that disrupted the airlifting of pilgrims last year. He noted that the essence of the seminar was to disseminate information and urged the operations staff to lead by example.

Delivering his goodwill message, the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, charged the operations staff to see themselves as Chief Servants of the State handling a tedious task. He urged them to be responsible, accountable and respectable while praying for strength to enable the respective officials carry out their responsibilities.

The operations staff expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for counting them worthy and providing the platform to educate and prepare them for the holy pilgrimage.
