  The Governors of Rivers and Bayelsa States, Siminalayi Fubara and Douye Diri, have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence between the two states following the controversies over the ownership of Soku Oil Wells and Bayelsa Stateā€™s landed properties in Port Harcourt. The commitment was restated when Governor Diri led a delegation of Bayelsa State officials on a Christmas visit to Governor Fubara at the Government House, Port Harcourt, reciprocating an earlier visit by the Rivers State Governor to Yenagoa. During the meeting, Governor Diri expressed gratitude for Governor Fubaraā€™s peaceful approach to resolving the long-standing issues. He lauded his counterpart for working with him to reach a truce over the contentious Soku Oil Wells and the takeover of Bayelsa State properties by the past administration, which had led to a Supreme Court case by his administration. ... GIVES TRADERS AT OLD TIMBER MARKET ONE MONTH TO RELOCATE TO PERMANENT SITE.


The Imo State Government through the Special Adviser/General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Engr. Francis Chukwu, on Monday  kick started the recovery of land assets belonging to Imolites,sequel to State Government plans to return illegally converted lands by previous administration to the original owners.


According to the OCDA boss, he stated that the government is leaving no stone unturned in returning illegally acquired properties to the original owner, he said that the 3R administration of Gov. Hope Uzodimma,is one that believes in transparency and accountability in service to the people. 


In another development traders occupying old timber market have been asked to relocate to their permanent site in Naze Owerri North within one month, while those at Naze roundabout were asked to vacate the green verge area. 


According to Engr. Chukwu, is in a bid to restoring the master plan of the capital city, stressing that it is hazardous trading at those areas, which is not in the original master plan of the city.
