 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. EFCC Charges NBA on Ethics and Responsibility to Society


The Commander, Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ACE II Onwukwe C. Obiora on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, charged the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to uphold the ethics and principles of the legal profession while discharging their duties as this is imperative to curbing corruption in the Northeast and Nigeria at large.


He gave the charge while receiving in his office, the Chairmen and executives of the Maiduguri and Biu branches of the NBA.


 While commending the association for its work and contributions to the fight against corruption, Obiora stressed the need for lawyers to be alive to their duties and responsibility to society. .
