LASG TO DIVERT TRAFFIC AT ABULE NLA, BREWERY, GASKIYA, NAVY DOCKYARD LEVEL CROSSINGS AS FG EMBARKS ON MAINTENANCE WORKS

Following the notification received from the Federal Ministry of Transportation on the maintenance works to be carried out at Abule Nla, Brewery, Gaskiya and Navy Dockyard Level Crossings on the 30th of April, 1st and 2nd of May 2022, the Lagos State Government has announced alternative routes for motorists plying the axis.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation in the State, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said repair work on the Abule Nla Level Crossing is scheduled to commence on Saturday, 30th of April, the works on the Brewery and Gaskiya sections will take place on the 1st of May, while that of Navy Dockyard is slated for the 2nd, adding that all diversions on the roads will be done at night time from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am on the scheduled dates in order to minimise inconvenience to motorists.

He advised motorists to use the Costain Bridge during the Abule Nla and Brewery maintenance work, noting that a counterflow will be created in each open lane for road users plying the Gaskiya axis while Navy Dockyard will be inaccessible to vehicular movements.

To further manage traffic, the Commissioner affirmed that traffic guides will be mounted along the affected routes to help motorists navigate the axis, adding that the State Traffic Management Authority will also be on ground to coordinate movement.

While lauding the citizenry for their uncompromised understanding and patience amidst various ongoing road projects within the State, Oladeinde assured that the outcome will be of great benefit to the people and the State.
