 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Anambra State Governor; Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly; Rt Hon Uche Okafor Episani and principal members of the house, members of Anambra State Executive Council and relatives, earlier today were at St Patrick Catholic Church Isuofia.

The funeral mass was celebrated by Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke who lamented the wickedness that has  overtaken the world that some people don't have any value anymore for human lives.

The eldest of the Okoye family; Mr Emmanuel Okoye thanked those that squeezed time out of their busy schedules to honour Late Hon Okechukwu Okoye and commiserate with the family at this critical time.

Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo assured the family that all the culprits to this horrible act must be brought to book.

He further appealed to Anambra State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt Dr Hon Uche Okafor Episani to ensure they remember to support the immediate family of their late honourable colleague.

He added that the state government under his leadership will continue their onslaught against criminal elements, kidnapping syndicate who now trades on human blood to make money. He equally assured of his support to the family.

May the soul of Late Hon Okechukwu Okoye rest in the bosom of the Lord.
