 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. India Reiterates Commitment To Partnering Nigeria For Better Life



The High Commission of India in Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to strengthening business and economic relations with Nigeria. 

The High Commissioner of India, Gangadrine Balasubramanian, who made tha promise at the independence celebration of India in Abuja , said, the India /Nigeria relationship started many years back with the establishment of its office in Lagos.

This relationship according to the India High Commissioner, has remained strong, and developed into multifaceted ways almost in all places including human capitial development hence they as a country, are happy with the assistance and cooperation of successive governments in Nigeria.

He said trade and economic relations between the two countries has remained strong with about 35 Indian companies in the country and they are not moving away from the traditional areas of cooperation but diversifying into new areas including information technology, artificial intelligence with scientific development, solar energy among others. 

Balasubramanian, who had earlier read the Indian President's message to the nation, stressed that his country will continue to cooperate with Nigeria in finding solutions to the insecurity in the country as the business between them has since after COVID-19 lock down, increased on both sides with India importing about ten billion dollars worth of oil from Nigeria. 

The Independence celebration saw India children and their parents thrilling the audience with their various musical and dance displays.
