 ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED PRODUCERS OF ADULTERATED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, RECOVERS COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad/VCRU have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the State. The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke 42 years old and Okeke Chukwuemeka 38 years old were arrested in the early hours of today 15th June 2026,  following credible intelligence received by the Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a syndicate specializing in the adulteration and counterfeiting of various alcoholic beverages. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and subsequently led operatives to their mini-factory. At the facility, Police operatives recovered several suspected adulterated alcoholic products, including Seaman’s Schnapps, McDowell’s, Eagle Schnapps, ...

KANO BUILDING COLLAPSE: 8 RESCUED,ONE CONFIRMED DEAD AT BEIRUT ROAD.(PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

 *Kano Building Collapse* 

 A three storey building on Beirut Road at a popular GSM market in Kano metropolis collapsed today Tuesday 30th August, 2022  around 03:05pm.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of the incident and immediately  mobilised emergency responders to the  site for  rescue operations. 

NEMA Search and Rescue team from  the Agency's Kano Territorial Office were also deployed to reinforce and coordinate the rescue. 

So far, as at 9:10pm this night,  eight (8) persons have been rescued and taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital. Sadly, one of them was confirmed death by doctors at the hospital,  six with minor injuries were treated and discharged. However, one of them that sustained major injuries with multiple fractures is still being treated  at the hospital.

Search and rescue operations is still ongoing to rescue those trapped beneath the rubbles.

The operations is being carried out jointly by search and rescue teams of NEMA, Kano State Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Nigerian Police, the military, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps,  State Road Transport Authority (KAROTA), Nigerian Red Cross Society, and others. 

The collapsed building was  under reconstruction as additional floors were being added to the existing structure.
