 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. LASG INVESTIGATES PALM AVENUE BUILDING COLLAPSE


The Lagos State Government is investigating the collapse of a building on 2/4 Oye Sonuga Street, Palm  Avenue, Mushin, stressing that whoever is indicted in the incident will be severely punished.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins, after his unscheduled visit to the site of the incident,  said, that the four-floor building, which collapsed on Friday, is about 40 years old. 

He has also directed that the adjoining building be pulled down for safety reasons, adding that efforts are on to rescue those who might have been trapped in the rubble.

Noting that the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory have been directed to unravel the cause of the collapse, Bamgbose-Martins informed that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency is leading the rescue operations.
