 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. EFCC Reaffirms Commitment to Its Mandate

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to assure the public of its unswerving commitment to its mandate and vision of a Nigeria free of economic and financial crimes, through the instrumentality of its Establishment Act and other extant laws.

It also needs reiterating that, all operational activities of the Commission are always in tandem with global best practices. Issues of arrest, detention, arraignment and prosecution of suspects are done in line with the Standard Operating Procedure of the Commission. The EFCC is fulfilling every international standard of law enforcement in all its ramifications. 

On this note, members of the public are enjoined to ignore any blackmail, campaign of calumny, tissue of lies and other ploys being employed by corrupt elements to cast aspersion on the good works of the Commission. The EFCC will continue to keep faith with its mandate and strengthen every legitimate activity of individuals, groups and organisations. 

All the outreach contacts of the Commission are also open for enquiries, complaints and petitions.
