 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. ASUU: UniJos VC Urges Lecturers To Resume Lectures 


University of Jos has appealed to its ASUU Chapter to resume lectures after the lecturers threatened to suspend classes about pay.

This appeal was made by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya, in a news conference on Monday in Jos, Plateau State. 

The lecturers claim they were only paid 15 days’ salary by the federal government after ASUU had agreed with Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila that 50 percent of members’ eight months withheld salaries would be paid.
