 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. FESTIVAL OF ANIMATION: LASG URGES YOUTHS TO REGISTER WITH REPUTABLE  FILM STUDIOS 



The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB), Mrs. Adebukola Agbaminoja, has called on interested youths in animation to align and register with reputable studios in the creative industry for mentorship.

Agbaminnoja made the call in her address at the 2022 Lagos State International Festival of Animation held at Freedom Park, Lagos, imploring the youths to also take advantage of the State partnership with some Film Academies to get skilled so as to be able to compete globally.    

She explained that this year’s Festival with the theme: “Get Animated, Season 6”, featuring over 136 short films from 22 countries, is targeted at the youth to encourage them to be more vibrant in the creative sector, assuring that the participants of the continuous support of the Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu’s administration towards the attainment of their set goals and objectives.

In her words: “Part of the State Government’s support for youths in the creative industry is the establishment of a Special Fund to support content creators. Noting, however, that many skilled animators are yet to apply or access the fund”.

She also disclosed that there is an urgent need to collate and maintain a reliable database for talented youths in the Animation Industry in the State.   

Mr. Mbuotidem Johnson, one of the panellists at the event, commended the State Government on its proposed plan to build a Film City in Ejirin-Epe area of the State which will include a Hub for Animation content providers. 

Another panellist, Mr. Ayodele Elegba urged the youths to embrace the training and work ethics of the profession which is very essential to developing their talents.
