 INDEPENDENT CORRUPT PRACTICES AND OTHER RELATED OFFENCES COMMISSION (ICPC) Tuesday 16th December, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) writes to confirm that it received a formal petition today Tuesday 16th December, 2025 from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer. HUSHPUPPI SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS IN THE UNITED STATES FOR FRAUD. (PHOTO).

Hushpuppi is sentenced to 11 years in the United States. He will spend nine years in prison because he had spent two years already in the US prison. Once released he will be deported to Nigeria.  


Born Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai in June 2022 and was extradited to USA over internet fraud and money laundering.


After 2 years in custody whiles facing trail, he was convicted awaiting final sentence on November 3, 2022.


Judge Otis Wright is expected to give the final sentence on November 3, 2022.


According Nigerian journalist Dr Kemi Olunloyo who has been keenly following the trail of Hushpuppi, the judge will give him 11-years sentence.
