 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND

 RECOVERS ONE PUMP ACTION GUN, FOUR LOCALLY MADE GUNS, EIGHTEEN ROUNDS OF LIVE CARTRIDGES DURING STOP AND SEARCH
 
On the 17/11/2022 at about 2200hrs, Police operatives attached to Ebrumede Division while on stop and search duty along DSC express road Warri, sighted a tricycle with Reg. No. Delta EFR 175 VK conveying two occupants heading towards the Police checking point. The operatives flagged down the tricycle  for a routine check. Surprisingly, the two occupants of the tricycle jump out and escaped from the scene abandoning the tricycle. Upon search of the tricycle, one (1) pump action gun, one (1) locally made long gun, three (3) locally made cut-to-size guns, and eighteen (18) rounds of live cartridges were recovered. Effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.
