  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. ... Makes Alternative Provision for Urgent Cases During Break

Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba has announced that Lagos Judiciary will begin its Y2022 Christmas vacation on December 23, 2022, and resume work on Tuesday, 3rd of January, 2023.

A release signed by Acting Chief Registrar, Mr. Tajudeen Elias said the Lagos State Chief Judge, Kazeem Alogba had approved the vacation pursuant to order 49 rule 4(c) and 5 of the High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.

Elias added that arrangements for dealing with urgent cases during the Christmas vacation are that each judge will deal with all urgent applications related to any substantive case already assigned to him/her.

According to him, “Any urgent application (the substantive case of which has not already been assigned) will be dealt with by the judge to whom the application is specifically assigned.”

“Notwithstanding the provisions of Order 49, Rule 4 (supra) any case or matter may be heard by a judge during the period of the Christmas vacation where such a case or matter is urgent, provided that the conditions prescribed by Order 49 Rule 5 (supra) shall be observed and complied with”, he added.
