 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Fire Destroys Goods At TN Uzoka Plaza In EkeAwka Market


Goods worth millions of Naira in a shop situated at the extreme second floor of TN Uzoka Plaza, EkeAwka have been completely damaged by fire yesterday evening. 


The incident which also affected the rooftops of some shops at the same floor was contained following the quick response of the Anambra State Fire Service.


The affected shop was stocked with phone accessories including batteries that were highly explosive. 


As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire incident is yet to be ascertained. 


But initial predictions suggests it might be from a power surge. 


Speaking with the Manager Director of Anambra State Fire Service, Chief Martins Agbili, he said:  "at about 7.25 this evening, I got a distress call that there is a fire at this plaza and immediately I deployed my men, the state fire fighters to safe the situation.


"Getting into this place, the shop that contained different kinds of phone accessories was completely burnt, but with efforts of my men we extinguished the fire and prevented it from affecting other shops, though it affected some roofings. The cause could not be ascertained but we suspected power surge and after our findings by tomorrow we will know the actual cause and loses". 


In appreciation Chief Agbili, thanked the public for fighting the fire before the arrival of the state fire fighters. "The masses were very good to us as they were assisting to help us get to the second floor. I therefore urge the residents of Anambra to always contact the fire service during emergencies.
