 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  *Ekwunife Condemns Gruesome Killing of President General of Obosi Community*


---Calls for Investigations Into Cult-Related Killings In Okpuno, and Ifite Awka.


The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has condemned in its strongest terms the gruesome killing of the President General of Obosi Community, Hon. Sir Ike Okolo at a petrol station by gunmen, on January 2, 2023.


Ekwunife expressed sadness over the death of the President General, describing it as a cruel act that should not go unpunished. She noted that Anambra is a peaceful and prosperous state and mindless killing of its citizens is not the dreams of the founding fathers.


The federal lawmaker urged security agencies to thoroughly unravel the circumstances leading to the killing and ensure that the law takes its full course on the perpetrators. Ekwunife further condemned the cult-related killings among rival groups in Okpuno and Ifite Awka both in Awka South local government area of the state.


The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation commiserated the entire Obosi, Okpuno and Awka communities over the incidents, and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives.
