 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. GHANAIAN FOOTBALLER CHRISTIAN ATSU, WHO DIED AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE HIT TURKEY, HAS BEEN BURIED TODAY. (PHOTOS).#RIP.

Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu, who died after an earthquake hit Turkey, has been buried today. 

The state-assisted funeral for the former Hatayspor club footballer is taking place in Accra, Ghana. 

Atsu was found dead after the earthquake caused the collapse of his apartment in southern Turkey. He will be sorely missed by many, including children at a Ghanaian orphanage that he frequently provided money, food and clothing to. 

“He came to drill a borehole for us, and help us with filters so it can be drinkable”, said Becky Foundation Director, Seth Asiedu. 

Atsu made the kids at the Becky Foundation charity children’s home so happy that they used to call him “father”. 

The Director added that they have organised counselling sessions for the kids “to try and overcome the pain."Thousands of mourners and well-wishers from Ghana and abroad file to the body to pay their last respects.

The winger played 65 times for Ghana's national team and helped his country reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final. 

Atsu will be remembered for his love for humanity, and for supporting the underprivileged in the country.
