 Tanzania closes Nduta camp housing thousands of Burundi refugees Tanzania has closed a camp housing thousands of Burundian refugees and repatriated all but a handful, activists and the United Nations said. Burundian refugees have complained in recent months of being forcibly evicted from the Nduta camp in northwestern Tanzania, following a deal between the governments in Dar Es Salaam and Bujumbura to repatriate around 100,000 of them by June. As of late 2025, there were an estimated 142,000 Burundian refugees housed in two Tanzanian camps - Nduta and Nyarugusu, according to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR). "The approximately 3,000 refugees who remained in the (Nduta) camp were forcibly loaded onto vehicles to be sent back to Burundi on Thursday," the Coalition for Human Rights/Living in Refugee Camps (CDH/VICAR) said, AFP reported. Emir Of Ilorin Urges Muslims To Live In Peace 

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has urged Muslims to sustain their religious obligations of living in peace and harmony with fellow human beings.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari made the call in his sallah message delivered shortly after the two rakat prayer marking the end of the glorious month of Ramadan 1444AH at the Ilorin Central Yidi praying ground.

He advised Muslims to shun acts that are capable of bringing disunity among the different ethnic groups in the society.

 Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also congratulated Kwara State govermor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and all the people of the state for witnessing this year's Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The Emir prayed Allah to continue to guide and protect him in the course of steering the ship of the state for the second term."

He urged the people of Ilorin Emirate and environs to be security conscious by being vigilant at all times .

Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir -Soliu , admonished Muslims to remain committed to religious teachings and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at all times.
