 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   President Tinubu Reconstitutes the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), following the Senate's confirmation of its members on December 16.   Members of the reconstituted Board are:   • Mulisiu Olalekan Oseni, PhD. — Chairman   Dr Oseni started his service as a Commissioner in January 2017. He was subsequently appointed Vice Chairman of the Commission.   His appointment as Chairman took effect from 1 December 2025 and shall subsist until the completion of his ten-year tenure at the Commission, in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2023.   • Yusuf Ali, PhD. — Vice Chairman   Dr Ali was first appointed as a Commissioner in February 2022. GOV. MATAWALLE REINSTATES EMIR SUSPECTED FOR TURBANING NOTORIOUS BANDIT. (PHOTO).

Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara  has approved  the reinstatement of Emir of Yandoto,  Alhaji Aliyu  Maraca to the throne of Emir of Birnin Yandoto.


This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe on Sunday in Gusau.


“The reinstatement is based on the recommendations of the Committee constituted to investigate all issues pertaining to the conferment of a traditional title to a repentant bandit, Ado Aleiru.


“The committee found no evidence of any ill motive or collaboration between the Emir and the bandit.


“Based on the findings of the committee, the traditional title was conferred on the repentant bandit as part of peace building efforts between the repentant bandit and banditry affected communities in Tsafe and Gusau Local Government Areas, which include Yandoto town,“he Balarabe said.


He said the reinstatement is with immediate effect.


The Zamfara government suspended the Emir of Yandoto on July 18, 2022 for the confirmation of a traditional title” Sarkin Fulanin Yandoto ” to  Ado Aleru, an alleged  notorious bandit.


The conferment generated public outcry that led to the postponement of the ceremony and since then the state government constituted committee to investigate the matter.
