 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. ACTDA Installs Solar Street Lights In Parts Of Awka



Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA,) has installed eighty units of solar-powered street lights in some parts of Agulu Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area.

Speaking to the ABS on the initiative, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko said that the light which was donated by a philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Udezue - Okeatu, will not only enhance the aesthetic look of the area, boost security but will also entrench nightlife which will increase the economic base of Anambra state.

Mr. Onuko maintained that the gesture is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration initiative of building a liveable and prosperous homeland, where people can transact their legitimate business at all times and enjoy themselves at any given time.

The ACTDA boss commended the donor for his benevolence and love for humanity, and disclosed that the agency is ready to partner any individual or group of people who have meaningful ideas or contributions towards building a better Anambra, while encouraging other well-meaning individuals to emulate the donor and give in support of their various communities

Mr. Onuko urged the people of Agulu Awka to own and protect the lights and other government facilities in the area from vandals, as the lights and its installations cost a lot of money.

He further assured that ACTDA will continue to live up to the mandate establishing it and warned those displaying their goods and wares along the roads to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
