 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. ACTDA Installs Solar Street Lights In Parts Of Awka



Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA,) has installed eighty units of solar-powered street lights in some parts of Agulu Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area.

Speaking to the ABS on the initiative, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko said that the light which was donated by a philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Udezue - Okeatu, will not only enhance the aesthetic look of the area, boost security but will also entrench nightlife which will increase the economic base of Anambra state.

Mr. Onuko maintained that the gesture is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration initiative of building a liveable and prosperous homeland, where people can transact their legitimate business at all times and enjoy themselves at any given time.

The ACTDA boss commended the donor for his benevolence and love for humanity, and disclosed that the agency is ready to partner any individual or group of people who have meaningful ideas or contributions towards building a better Anambra, while encouraging other well-meaning individuals to emulate the donor and give in support of their various communities

Mr. Onuko urged the people of Agulu Awka to own and protect the lights and other government facilities in the area from vandals, as the lights and its installations cost a lot of money.

He further assured that ACTDA will continue to live up to the mandate establishing it and warned those displaying their goods and wares along the roads to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
