 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

IN ANAMBRA: HAJIYA HAJARA USMAN ALKALI BABA COMMISSIONS POLICE OFFICERS WIVES ASSOCIATION (POWA) SKILL ACQUISITION CENTRE IN UKPO, DUNUKOFIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT



 


The President of, the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), *Hajiya Hajara Usman Alkali Baba,* today 20/5/2023 commissions the newly built Police Officers Wives Association Skill Acquisition Center in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government.


This initiative is one of the agenda and progressive reforms of *Hajiya Usman* as the *21st President of POWA*, since assumption of office, has built and commissioned a skill Acquisition Center in *Abuja Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rivers State and Anambra State as well as Benue State that is still ongoing*, aimed at,  to help and enhance the welfare of the families of Police officers in the country, by engaging their wives to acquire skills and knowledge that will bring funds to supportort their respective families. These skills include fashion design, catering, baking, hair and wig making, headgear styling/design and many others. The *POWA* President assures that at the end of every training session, the participants shall receive all the necessary tools and empowerment materials for the successful take-off to start based on the skills they had acquired.


On the other hand, the Chairperson Police Officers Wives Association, Mrs Ikemi Echeng on behalf of POWA Anambra thanked the National President POWA and describe this gesture as a development that will spur officers, especially in Anambra State to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare is of paramount importance to the leadership of the Force.


Also, the highlights of the events include the presentation/breaking of kola, Commissioning of the project, songs presentation by Police Wives Association, (PIWA) Anambra State, Cash donations by dignitaries and other activities 


Also in attendance are, the representative of the major sponsor of the project, *Prince Engr. Dr Authur Ikpehchukwu Eze, OFR Ebube Ukpo, Ozoigbonu, Prince Dr Okechukwu Eze, His Royal Majesty Igwe Dr Robert. C. Eze, Senator Ifeanyi Uba representing Anambra South Senatorial Constituency, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Paul University, Prof Mrs Chinenyere Okunna, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13, AIG Tony Olofu, Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Echeng Echeng and other dignitaries that graced the Occasion.
