  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. MINISTRY OF EDUCATION IN RIVERS STATE SUSPENDS PRINCIPAL OVER ALLEGED WASSCE RACKETEERING


The Rivers State Ministry of Education says it has suspended the Principal of Community Secondary School, Borokiri, Port Harcourt over alleged West African Senior Secondary School (WASSCE) Examination fee racketeering.

Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom made the disclosure on Wednesday, 17th, May, 2023 to Journalists shortly after parents of students of the school who were excluded from writing the exams visited his office. Professor Mmom said he has also deployed another Principal to resume in the school immediately.

According to the Education Commissioner, he said the Principal agreed in the presence of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Borokiri Police Division that he short-changed some students of the school for external candidates he collected money from. Professor Mmom also revealed that he has urged the DPO to detain the Principal for investigation.

Recall that some parents in a protest had stormed the school in the early hours of Wednesday, 17th of May, 2023 demanding to know the reason their children who registered for the exams were prevented from writing the exams.
