 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle. Governor Fintiri Commissions 455 Housing Units For IDPs At Labondo

Governor Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri has commissioned 454 houses meant for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state at Labondo I Girie local government area.

The project under the programme Labondo Local Integration Project was championed by United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) among others. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the development partners for providing the houses which was described as qualitative.

He urges the two thousand and seven hundred beneficiaries of the houses and other interventions to cultivate good maintenance culture of the project for sustainability.

The Governor expressed delight that the project focuses on community empowerment, sustainable housing, livelihood support, social cohesion and socio-economic development.

Chansa Kapaya, UNHCR Country Representative, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for providing overall leadership towards executing the project.

Various speakers at the event commended the development partners for executing the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to take full ownership of the project.
