 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker. Governor Fintiri Commissions 455 Housing Units For IDPs At Labondo

Governor Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri has commissioned 454 houses meant for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state at Labondo I Girie local government area.

The project under the programme Labondo Local Integration Project was championed by United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) among others. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the development partners for providing the houses which was described as qualitative.

He urges the two thousand and seven hundred beneficiaries of the houses and other interventions to cultivate good maintenance culture of the project for sustainability.

The Governor expressed delight that the project focuses on community empowerment, sustainable housing, livelihood support, social cohesion and socio-economic development.

Chansa Kapaya, UNHCR Country Representative, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for providing overall leadership towards executing the project.

Various speakers at the event commended the development partners for executing the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to take full ownership of the project.
