 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. Pop Queen Madonna rushed to hospital, intubated in ICU after being found unresponsive

Pop Queen, Madonna, 64,  has been forced to postpone her tour after she was found unresponsive and rushed to a New York City hospital last Saturday, June 24.

According to her manager, the global popstar developed a serious bacterial infection, which led to "a several day stay in ICU".

In a statement, Guy Oseary said Madonna's health is improving, but she is still under medical care.

Sharing the news, he wrote in a statement this evening: "On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.

He added: "Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour."

He concluded the statement by writing: "We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

Her upcoming Celebration tour - which was announced earlier this year - had been due to launch next month. 

The tour is expected to celebrate her decades-long career in the music industry, which has included numerous chart-topping singles such as Like a Prayer, Vogue, and Into the Groove.
